Portable Generator Transfer Panel

When hurricanes strike it often leaves many without power.  Many people think they need a whole house generator so they can run their Air Conditioning, take hot showers and have all the normal comforts; however those whole house generators can cost upwards of $15,000 when all is said and done.  A portable generator hookup is a cost effective solution to provide you just the amount of comfort you would need to get by for many days or even a couple of weeks.

When hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, I personally lost power for 7 days.  We had a 6500 watt generator with a transfer panel hooked up as you see in this recent picture.  It powers the majority of the lights in your home along with many of the outlets.  We were watching tv with ceiling fans on and slept in one bedroom with a portable AC unit running each night.  We were comfortable and happy, despite the disruption in our lives.

With the recent hurricanes of Matthew and Irma knocking out power all around St. Augustine, many found themselves scrambling for a hotel.  Don’t get stuck again.  Call Allstar Electric to get you set up for the future power outages we may have at a fraction of the cost that a whole home generator will set you back.
